Welcome to London!

kuwi netzwerk international

Kuwi netzwerk international e.V. is a student and alumni association with 15 years of networking experience and about 3,600 members all over the world. In 2001 kuwi netzwerk was awarded a prize as one of the two best alumni associations in Germany by the Stifterverband, the business community’s innovation agency for the German science system.

Representing the degree programmes “International Cultural and Business Studies” and “European Studies” which are characterised by multidisciplinarity and internationality, the students and graduates joining kuwi netzwerk possess a variety of skills in the fields of business administration, cultural science, and social sciences and are highly proficient in at least two foreign languages. Attaching great importance to the attainment of soft skills, the programmes moreover offer numerous seminars to train their students in this area.

Kuwi netzwerk seeks to be a link between students and alumni and successfully promotes the exchange between professionally experienced members of the network and younger emerging leaders through junior and senior mentoring programmes. The website and online platform www.kuwi.de is the network’s virtual meeting point and an established and important tool for the exchange and management of knowledge and information. In addition to this opportunity to be globally connected online, more than 30 regional alumni groups all around the world organise regular meetings: besides numerous groups in Germany, e.g. in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, or Cologne, regional alumni groups are located for example in Washington, Singapore, London, Jakarta, Madrid, Brussels, Moscow, Milan, and Vienna.

In order to provide members with the latest information concerning job and internship offers as well as social and academic events, the career service team publishes a weekly online newsletter whose contents can individually be selected on the homepage by every member. Many German and international enterprises appreciate the opportunity to communicate job offers directly to highly qualified students and graduates through the newsletter. Furthermore, events such as the kuwi career day and the kuwi symposium which annually attract hundreds of kuwi netzwerk members are used by firms and institutions to introduce themselves to people with a global mindset.

Supporting graduates and students all over the world, the kuwi netzwerk constantly seeks to establish new international collaborations with other alumni and student associations and enterprises in order to share expertise and create benefits for both sides.

KuWi InterChange Project London 2010

The KuWi InterChange Scholarship supports projects which help to bridge national and cultural borders and expand the international relations of kuwi netzwerk. During my time in London I want to pursue these goals with my project “Global networking in an international business environment”.

The project is designed to give insights into the work of global alumni associations in London, to establish contact between alumni associations and kuwi netzwerk, and to provide kuwi netzwerk alumni and other interested readers of the blog with information about jobs and internships in UK.
